'Stadt' shows a series of street portraits, all shot from very close distance in Tokyo, between 1981 and 1989. He uses a snapshot style, high contrast, we can feel the energy of the collision (almost) between the photographer and his subject. In most of the pictures, all that we can see is a face, as it is, with it’s scars, acne, big glasses or bumps. The photographer collects and doesn’t judge, shows what we usually look away from.�
