IBASHO is presenting a solo exhibition of Japanese artist Photographer Hal on a pop-up location in the beautiful space of HAL in Borgerhout. The Japanese artist feels that the attraction between couples is often so strong that they want to become one entity and that this fundamental passion contains an energy that influences everything. Photographer Hal has wondered why couples want to become one and has concluded that man and woman once were one unity. With this belief he brings couples together and tries to unify them by vacuum packing and photographing them. The closer the couple is, the stronger their love is.
Next to Photographer Hal's solo exhibition IBASHO is showing an overview of contemporary Japanese photography on the first floor of HAL, with work by Toshio Shibata, Asako Narahashi, Rinko Kawauchi, Mika Ninagawa, and others
