This book is a luxurious  catalogue of an exhibition in the National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo in 2014/15 of Ikko Narahara's works from 'Domains'.

Domains features two separate photography series unified by Ikko’s signature haunted aesthetic. The first series Garden of Silence takes place in a Trappist monastery in Tobetsu, Hokkaidō while the second Within The Wall documents a women’s prison in Wakayama. Marking a new era of Japanese postwar photography, Ikko’s refreshing yet poignant style updated the monochrome medium for the contemporary age.

With an essay by Masuda Rei. Includes a chronology, exhibitions history, and dozens of views of photographs of people inhabiting their "domains." Texts are in Japanese and English.
