The project idea is based on the artist's photographic diary, which was created between 2012 and 2019 during his stays of several months during countless urban wanderings in Japan. The book is also a pictorial trace of the constant “being on the move”, which does not foresee an end. The focus of the choice of images is aimed at everyday urban situations and the detail as an expression of otherness. They are sensory experiences that should do without choreography. Bachmann tells and records, similar to the Japanese concept of beauty WABI SABI, which accepts what is found in its unchanged form. The truth content of these pictures lies exclusively in the personal experience and seeing of things. The authenticity lies in the fact that the places stage themselves and ask passers-by to take notice of them with a wink.
