Inu no Toki features Moriyama's photographs from three distinct periods: work made in Tokyo, during his trip to New York with Tadanori Yokoo, and during the Okinawa Workshops instigated by Workshop Photographic School, which he co-founded. The selection of photographs covers the period 1964-1983, pivoting around 1970, the year Moriyama found the enthusiasm he had felt towards photography during the Provoke period begin to wane, to be replaced by an attraction to the pop art of Andy Warhol.
