Arcipelago - Marco Tagliafico

Arcipelago is a sculptural work composed of a series of interconnected pieces, all derived from the repetition of a single landscape photograph. Through the layering of a painted glass and a darkroom print, created using the smartphone light inside the enlarger, the work presents a fragmented vision in constant transformation. The glass acts as a screen, revealing only a portion of the image while the rest is concealed by color. Separating the two elements would radically alter the perception of the landscape, suggesting the impossibility of a unified and complete view. Arcipelago reflects on the relationship with technological devices, which filter and modify visual narratives, reshaping the perception of reality. In this tension within the sphere of belief and doubt, Arcipelago explores the contrast between the digital realm and the physicality of our presence in the world.
