Blue Shadows is part of a project exploring loss, ritual and layers of grief through the transformation of funeral flowers using multiple alternative photographic techniques and printing processes.
The images in this publication derive from cyanotype prints of flowers which were made in 2021 in Japan.
This was during a period of 10 days covid quarantine after travelling for the 49th day ceremony (Shijukunichi) for my mother's passing.
The cyanotypes were then rested for five years before being transformed into the next stage.
