Born in 1971 in Belgium, where she lives, Florence D’elle is a self-taught author-photographer.
Following the sudden death of her partner in 2015, she develops a passion for analogue photography and for the historical techniques of wet collodion, carbon printing and oil printing.
She nourishes her creative process through the use of view cameras as an arm, an extension of herself and of her soul, an intimate and slow process.
Florence, a passionate artist, loves to bring her vision to life in this way, like an organic mirror, seeing the world in images and its profound impact.
In 2022, she is invited by the Sunnhordland Museum to join a residency at Halsnoy Monastery in Norway.
Her inspiration leads to the creation of Opprinnelsen, “the Origins” in Norwegian, where there is the beauty and mystery of the landscapes, the elements, an intuition tied to the history of the place, and trees as sacred elements. This work was shortlisted for the Camera Clara Prize in 2023 and will soon be exhibited at Galerie La Chambre Claire and Galerie L’ANGLE Photographies in 2027. It is accompanied by a very fine text by Christine Delory-Momberger.
