Overview

Takashi Suzuki was born in Kyoto 1971 and lives and work in Kyoto. In 1996 he graduated from The Art Institute of Boston, MA, U.S.A. (BFA). In 2001-2002 he was a guest student in class of Thomas Ruff at Kunstakademie Düsseldorf, Germany.

In this series of work BAU Suzuki tried to find how many sculptural forms he could create by using assemblages of these particular mundane items. This approach promotes a differentiation of context, instilling potentially unexpected propositions.

Artist Statement:

'Even if photographic images exist as a method for interpreting the world, I believe those images are different from what we see. I am more interested in how the photographic image is perceived, than what the photographic subject actually is, and also in what changes the photographed information.'
